About the girl behind the lens

I was born and raised in Idaho (Go Broncos!) and moved to Virginia in 2000. Now, I guess you could say I’ve become a southern girl at heart—especially when it comes to sweet tea!

In 2022, I bought my first home with the love of my life, and I’ve embraced my new role as a chicken and duck mom. It’s been an absolute joy!

Photography has been a part of me since childhood, but it took a long time to realize just how passionate I am about it. It wasn’t until I bought my first camera in 2017 that I knew documenting life is where my heart truly belongs. I’m self-taught, and in October 2023, I fully committed to this journey—and I’ve loved every moment since!

Why I do what I do...

When I first started photography, it was a way to express myself by showing everyone how I saw the world. But as I began to do it I realized that it was more than just taking pictures. It was about capturing moments for people to look back on and remember all the fond memories.

That moment of realization came after losing a dear friend of mine to leukemia in 2022. He and his wife had only been married for a few years and his death shook us all. About a year and a half after his passing, I was talking to his wife and she told me, "The photos you took of us a couple of years ago are some of my favorites to look at. They take me back to the happiest times in my life." It was like a lightbulb went off for me.

As a follower of Christ, I realized that photography is a talent that He gave me. And in return I'm giving back to my clients by creating images that reflect their love, scars, and legacy. During sessions, I ask questions to get to know their story and all the stepping stones that led them to where they are at.

I want to know YOU and your story (and not just the pretty parts)! We all have a story to tell and what better way than by documenting every part of it. Give me all the laughs, tears, and feelings. Because in our raw, authentic selves, that is where we are loved the most!

My Rock

Besides my love for Jesus, you can be sure that I will mention this guy at least four times in our sessions if not more. You know when people say the best thing to do is marry your best friend? Well I did that and I'm so grateful I did. He spoils me to no end and has supported me every step of the way since I followed the photography dream.
